Bobcats defeat Peacocks to improve to 3-0 in MAAC play
The Quinnipiac women’s basketball team secured a victory over the Saint Peter’s Peacocks with a final score of 54-39 on Thursday night in Hamden, starting off their 2025 season on a winning note. Jackie Grisdale was a standout player, contributing 13 points and shooting 42.9% from beyond the arc. She also managed to grab five rebounds and made two steals during the game. Anna Foley also made a strong impact with eleven points and six rebounds.
The match started with a close first quarter, with Quinnipiac holding a slim 11-10 lead. Saint Peter’s gained the upper hand in the second quarter, heading into halftime with a one-point advantage. However, Quinnipiac made a strong comeback in the second half, scoring nine of the first eleven points to take a six-point lead. The Bobcats continued their dominance in the third quarter, outscoring the Peacocks 13-5 and holding a seven-point lead going into the final quarter.
Quinnipiac did not let up in the final quarter and emerged victorious with a 54-39 win, improving their overall record to 11-1 and their conference record to 3-0 in MAAC play.
Some key stats from the game include Grace LaBarge contributing ten points off the bench while shooting an impressive 57% from the floor. Gal Raviv stood out with seven rebounds and five assists. It was a team effort, with seven Bobcats getting on the scoreboard.
Despite being outrebounded 38-32 by Saint Peter’s, Quinnipiac managed to force 13 turnovers and convert them into 13 points. The Bobcats shot 34.9% from the field, outperforming Saint Peter’s 25.5%.
