Spider-Man Trailer: ‘The Batman’ Sequel Release Date Delayed for SEO; ICv2

Marvel fans, get ready! The first trailer for “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” has dropped, and it’s set to premiere on Disney+ on January 29. We can expect some serious web-slinging action with this one. Plus, Marvel has already launched a comic prequel series for the show.

In the DC universe, there’s been a slight delay. The release date for The Batman sequel has been pushed back a full year to October 1, 2027. According to Deadline, the delay is due to writing issues, with the full script still in the works. DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn reassured fans that they’re committed to delivering the best film possible, and these things just take time.

Over at the box office, Sonic 3 is still holding strong at the #1 slot. The film brought in $38 million domestically last weekend, bringing its total earnings to $137.5 million in the U.S. and $211 million worldwide. Looks like Sonic is on track to surpass its predecessors with this latest installment.

In other news, Sony and Kadokawa have made some moves. While there were talks of Sony acquiring Kadokawa, they’ve decided on a different approach. Sony is investing a whopping ¥50 billion (that’s around $315 million) in new shares of Kadokawa, becoming the company’s largest shareholder. This partnership is expected to boost their IP creation capabilities and expand their reach globally.

And for fans of Tom and Jerry, get excited! Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has enlisted Rashida Jones, Will McCormack, and Michale Govier to write a new Tom and Jerry feature. Following the success of the 2021 film, it seems like there’s more cat-and-mouse fun on the horizon.
