Light Shop Wins Title of Biggest K-series on Disney+ Hotstar 2024
Light Shop, the newest series from creator Kangfull, has been making waves since its premiere, becoming the biggest Korean original debut on Disney+ worldwide in 2024, based on 12 days of views. In fact, it’s also the second biggest Korean original debut of all time on Disney+, following closely behind Moving.
The show first aired on December 4 and consists of eight gripping episodes. It revolves around six strangers who are all dealing with difficult events from their past. While trying to navigate their daily lives, they start to realize that something is amiss, although they can’t quite put their finger on it. Searching for answers and yearning to get back to normal, these strangers are led to a mysterious light shop at the end of a dark alleyway, which unlocks secrets about their past, present, and future. With a mix of mystery and drama, Light Shop takes viewers on an emotional journey through its unique and captivating storyline.
This exciting news follows a string of other success stories for Korean content on Disney+ Hotstar. With the recent announcement at the 2024 Disney APAC Content Showcase that Moving Season 2 is in the works, Light Shop’s success adds to the growing popularity of Korean entertainment on the streaming platform.
