Apple TV Ranks 7th Amongst Apple Users for Streaming Platforms

According to a recent survey by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), Apple TV+ is the seventh most popular streaming service among Apple device owners, with only 32% of the user base tuning in. In comparison, Netflix reigns supreme with 76% of Apple customers subscribed to their service, followed closely by Hulu at 61% and Amazon Prime Video at 60%. Disney+ takes the fourth spot with 48% of Apple users, while both Peacock and Paramount+ tie at 35%. Bringing up the rear is HBO Max (formerly HBO) with 26% of Apple’s customer base.

Despite being part of the Apple ecosystem, Apple TV+ finds itself in the lower tier of streaming preferences alongside Peacock and Paramount+. This data indicates that even though Apple is a huge player in hardware and services, their streaming platform has yet to reach the same level of market penetration as their competitors.

The survey, which covers the period ending September 2024, also highlights that Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video are unique in the streaming landscape as the only providers whose parent companies’ primary business lies outside of entertainment. It’s an interesting insight into the preferences of Apple users when it comes to streaming services.
