Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Results in Death of One Person
A tragic incident occurred in Walker, Michigan, as reported by the Walker Police Department, where a person lost their life after being thrown from a vehicle during a crash. The authorities were alerted around 12:50 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash on Maynard Avenue south of Butterworth Drive SW.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 29-year-old Grand Rapids resident was driving southbound on Maynard Avenue SW when the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree. Regrettably, a 34-year-old Ottawa County resident who was a passenger in the vehicle was thrown from it and tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The police are still investigating this crash, but they have shared their belief that speed and alcohol were contributing factors.
