COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of rapper O.G. Maco’s passing at the age of 32, just two weeks after sustaining a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Born Benedict Chiajulam Ihesiba Jr. in College Park, O.G. Maco first made waves in the music scene back in 2014 with his hit single “U Guessed It,” later collaborating with 2-Chainz on a remix.

His family took to his Instagram account to announce his tragic death, leaving behind a rich musical legacy despite his young age. O.G. Maco faced various health challenges over the years, from a severe car accident in 2016 that nearly cost him his right eye to a battle with flesh-eating bacteria in 2019. Unfortunately, he allegedly attempted to take his own life on December 12.

Despite his struggles, O.G. Maco leaves behind an extensive music catalog, including two full studio albums, mixtapes, and extended plays. His impact on the music industry will not be forgotten.
