Hakha Mashayekhi has an intriguing journey to becoming the Director of Product Design at Max, marked by bold shifts, creative growth, and a dedication to guiding future designers. Initially in industrial design, he found the process enriching but slow. Seeking a faster, more user-centered approach, Hakha transitioned to digital product design, where ideas can quickly come to life. At CCS, he delved into Integrated Design, blending interaction design, business strategy, and technology, discovering his passion for UX design. From impactful projects for major brands to mentoring young creatives, Hakha finds purpose in creating joyful experiences and honing his skills in a fast-evolving field.

“One of the joys of my work is when people talk about HBO and Max. I cannot take credit for the content, but I feel good when people are happy on Sunday nights,” says Hakha Mashayekhi.

Did you always know you wanted to go into UX Design? Hakha explains his shift from industrial to digital product design for a faster creative process. He describes the satisfaction of seeing his work come to life in the hands of users, drawing a distinction between in-house and consulting roles.

What do you love most about your job? Hakha’s evolving perspective over the years has led him to embrace his role as a people manager, finding joy in nurturing team members and guiding their growth. Is nurturing young creatives and leading the next generation something that interests you? Hakha expresses curiosity about students’ innovative projects, especially in utilizing AI, and praises their passion and creativity.
