Amazon Prime Video to Limit Password Sharing and Introduce Ads in India by 2025

Amazon Prime Video is making some changes for its users in India. Starting in January 2025, there will be new restrictions on password sharing. This means that you’ll only be able to log in on a maximum of five devices, including up to two TVs. It’s all part of Amazon’s efforts to make sure everyone’s on the same page. If you go over the device limit, you can manage your devices in the settings or get an extra Prime membership.

Right now, you can log in on up to 10 devices with Amazon Prime Video, no restrictions on TVs. So this new cap might be a bit tricky for some users to adjust to. And that’s not all – get ready for ads during your favorite shows and movies in 2025. But don’t worry, Amazon promises that the ad load will be lighter than what you see on traditional TV. And for those who prefer an ad-free experience, a new premium subscription tier will also be available soon.

But don’t worry, the pricing for Amazon Prime in India is sticking around for now. You can still get an annual subscription for Rs 1,499, or go for the quarterly or monthly plans at Rs 599 and Rs 299, respectively. Looking for a budget-friendly option? Check out the Rs 799 Amazon Prime Lite plan or the Rs 399 Prime Shopping Edition. They offer limited features compared to the full package, but they’re a good way to save some money.
