812 Million Views: Major Illegal Sports Streaming Network Shut Down
A significant illegal sports streaming network, which had 812 million visits, has been shut down. The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) successfully took down infamous illicit websites based in Vietnam that were being accessed globally. These sites were particularly popular in the US and Canada, where people were streaming sports games on a daily basis.
ACE’s efforts focused on targeting this large global sports piracy network, which saw a whopping 812 million visits in the past year. The shutdown of sites like bestsolaris.com, streameast.to, markkystreams.com, crackstreams.dev, and weakspell.to marks a significant step in combating piracy of live sports programs.
This crackdown on illegal sports streaming is a huge win in the fight against piracy. Larissa Knapp, from the Motion Picture Association (MPA), highlighted the impact of piracy on live sports broadcasts, emphasizing the loss of commercial value once the game ends. By shutting down these illegal operations, ACE is sending a strong message to piracy operators that they will be identified and stopped.
The illegal streaming operation affected ACE members, including beIN Sports, Canal+, and DAZN. Ed McCarthy, COO of DAZN, expressed support for ACE’s efforts in eradicating piracy, which undermines the sports ecosystem. The closure of this piracy ring not only prevents illegal activity but also guides potential subscribers towards legitimate content providers like DAZN.
Users attempting to access the now shut down sites will be redirected to the ACE “Watch Legally” page. This action serves as a warning to piracy operators worldwide that illegal operations will not be tolerated.
