For KING + COUNTRY, a band known for their unique sound, have recently covered a classic U2 song for the upcoming streaming series “House of David.” The song they covered is “40,” originally from U2’s 1983 album, War. Known for its powerful lyrics, the song is an adaptation of Psalm 40 from the Bible’s Old Testament.

“House of David” is set to premiere on Prime Video on Feb. 27, with three episodes launching initially, followed by one episode each week. This series tells the inspiring story of David, the biblical figure who famously defeated Goliath and went on to become king of Israel. The cover of “40” by For KING + COUNTRY will be the first single from the show’s soundtrack.

Excitingly, For KING + COUNTRY will be performing their version of “40” live at all their remaining concerts through Dec. 20. Fans can expect to stream the single in early 2025, with the full soundtrack release to follow.

In a statement, For KING + COUNTRY expressed their gratitude for being given the opportunity to reimagine U2’s powerful anthem. They are enthusiastic about sharing their version of “40” with their listeners in the coming year.

It’s always fascinating to see artists reinterpret the works of their musical influences, and this collaboration between For KING + COUNTRY and U2 is sure to be a treat for fans of both bands. Keep an eye out for their version of “40” in 2025!
