Best 2024: Rose Matafeo Discusses “Agatha All Along” and Other Challengers
2024 has been a bit of a blur, hasn’t it? With all the lockdowns and everything, it’s hard to keep track of time. I recently found myself wondering what I’ve even watched this year. After a quick Google search, I realized that it’s been a year of sequels and big box office hits like Dune that I haven’t quite caught up on yet.
Despite being someone who works in TV, I don’t actually watch that much of it. But there was one show that really grabbed my attention this year, and that was “Agatha All Along.” As a Marvel fan, I was already hooked after loving WandaVision, so diving into this spin-off series was a no-brainer for me. The weekly release schedule brought back a sense of routine that I appreciate, and the all-female cast (plus Joe Locke) made it even more special.
Kathryn Hahn’s performance in “Agatha All Along” was a standout for me. I’ve been a fan of hers for a long time, and she really delivered in this show. The witchy vibes and the overall aesthetic of the series kept me coming back for more each week. It’s not a groundbreaking show by any means, but it’s definitely a fun watch that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
On the movie front, “Challengers” was the last film that I really enjoyed in the cinema. Watching it with a couple of friends was a hilarious experience, and we couldn’t help but laugh throughout the whole movie. It was a bit awkward at times, but there were definitely no romantic vibes between us – just a shared appreciation for a good (and slightly strange) film.
As for my dream of joining the Marvel universe, well, I’m still waiting for that call. I’m not saying I’m the best actor out there, but I’d jump at the chance to be a background character handing someone a folder or getting taken out by Ultron. Who knows, maybe one day it’ll happen!
