Disney Removes Transgender Storyline from New Pixar Series

Disney has made a change to its upcoming animated Pixar series, “Win or Lose,” by cutting a transgender storyline from the show. The series, set to debut next year, centers around an entertaining co-ed middle school softball team known as “The Pickles.” With eight episodes planned, each will highlight a different member of the team.

While the gender identity storyline has been removed, the character will still be part of the series. Disney shared in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter that, especially for animated content aimed at younger audiences, they understand that many parents would prefer to address certain topics with their children at their own pace.

“Win or Lose” is scheduled to start streaming on Disney+ on Feb. 19. So get ready to cheer on “The Pickles” as they navigate the ups and downs of middle school softball on your screens next year!
