Disney Removes Transgender Storyline from New Pixar Animated Series
Disney has made a change to its upcoming animated Pixar series, “Win or Lose.” The show, set to premiere next year, focuses on a co-ed middle school softball team known as “The Pickles.” Each of the eight episodes will highlight a different team member.
Recently, Disney decided to remove a storyline involving gender identity from the series. Despite this change, the character in question will still be a part of the show. In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, Disney explained that for animated content aimed at younger viewers, they understand that some parents may want to address certain topics with their children in their own way and time.
“Win or Lose” is set to start streaming on Disney+ on February 19. This decision by Disney reflects their commitment to providing content that is in line with the preferences of parents when it comes to discussing sensitive subjects with their kids. Stay tuned for the premiere of “Win or Lose” to see the exciting adventures of “The Pickles” team!
