Silo Descent Review: Season 2 Episode 5
The second season of Silo continues to develop its characters in more complex ways, leading to less predictable storytelling. However, the latest episode, “Descent,” feels somewhat like a season one installment. The overarching conflict of “the raiders are after fugitives from Mechanical!” keeps the tension high, but the episode itself seems like a bit of a bridge to future events.
While the pacing of the episode is solid, it doesn’t push the plot forward significantly, leaving viewers hanging for the next installment. This is especially true for the storyline of Silo 17, which doesn’t get as much focus this week. Despite introducing some intriguing story threads, none of them are resolved within the hour, leaving a sense of unfinished business.
For example, Solo’s request for Juliette to help prevent his eventual drowning by powering the pump is a plot point that will surely resurface in future episodes. This unresolved thread adds to the anticipation for what’s to come in the series.
Overall, while “Descent” may not be the most action-packed episode of Silo, it sets the stage for more exciting developments in the future. Fans of the show will no doubt be eager to see how these storylines play out in the upcoming episodes.
