“The Bravest Knight” Kids Show is Back for Season 2 on TV
Get ready, families! “The Bravest Knight”, a beloved children’s show that captures hearts with its tale of two dads, has returned for a second season after more than five years on Hulu. This groundbreaking series was the first on a mainstream network to feature a family with same-sex parents and is based on Daniel Errico’s book, “The Bravest Knight Who Ever Lived”.
The show follows Sir Cedric, now a full-fledged knight, Prince Andrew, and their daughter Nia as she trains to become a knight herself. Through heartwarming stories, the show touches on themes like friendship, self-confidence, and creating your own path, all presented with humor and fun.
Errico shared his excitement for this season, years in the making, and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share Cedric and Nia’s journey. He highlighted the show’s aim to inspire “Not-Yet-Knights” looking to make the world a better place.
While the series doesn’t revolve around having same-sex parents, Errico understands the importance of representation. He mentioned the significance of showcasing a two-dad family, ensuring kids see themselves reflected in the stories they watch.
Season 2 has already started making headlines for its positive messages and impact. Episode 2, “Cedric & the Three Ogres,” received the Velma Award for “Best Episode for Storytime with Drag Queens.” This recognition comes from the episode’s themes of acceptance and self-definition, delivered with a dose of silliness and adventure.
The show boasts a talented cast of queer actors and allies, along with guest stars like Nina West and Jane Lynch. The theme song, performed by Justin Tranter, encourages viewers to embrace their true selves, promoting bravery and authenticity.
All six episodes of the second season are now available on Hulu in the U.S. and CBC Gem in Canada. Plus, fans can catch new episodes on CBC starting January 12. Moreover, Schiffer Publishing will donate a portion of book sales to GLSEN, an LGBTQ+ education organization, from November 2024 to June 2025.
So grab some popcorn, settle in, and enjoy the heartwarming adventures of “The Bravest Knight” with your family. It’s a show filled with humor, heart, and valuable life lessons for kids and adults alike.
