Peacock Sighting in Essex Town: Residents Report Stray Bird
In Essex, Massachusetts, there’s a stunning sight catching everyone’s attention—it’s a majestic peacock! This bird, standing as tall as a turkey, has become a bit of a local legend, and the Essex Shipbuilding Museum has even created adorable peacock plushies in its honor.
K.D. Montgomery, the Executive Director of the museum, shared that there’s been so much excitement surrounding this new feathered friend since it first appeared in town a few months ago. It’s quickly become a beloved part of local folklore.
Renato Inacio, the owner of Essex Pizza and Restaurant, has had plenty of encounters with the peacock recently. Describing the bird as getting as close as “around three yards” from onlookers, Inacio raved about its mesmerizing gaze and beautiful eyes.
It’s safe to say that the Essex peacock has captured the hearts of residents and visitors alike, turning heads and sparking joy wherever it goes. Who knew a simple bird could become such a cherished part of the community!
