Filming Locations in England: October

Ever wonder what’s been going on behind the scenes of some of the biggest cinematic releases this year? England has been a hub of activity, with exciting productions filming across different regions. From Young Sherlock in Bristol to Woman in Cabin 10 in Kent, there’s a lot to look forward to on our screens.

In the South West, Amazon Studios has been filming Young Sherlock, a series following a 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes in his first murder case. Over in the East & South East, Apple TV has been working on Silo Season 3 at Hoddesdon Studios in Hertfordshire. And Netflix enthusiasts will be excited to hear about Woman in Cabin 10, a thrilling series starring Keira Knightly, Guy Pearce, Hannah Waddingham, and David Ajala.

Moving to the North West, residents in Handbridge, Chester, were treated to the sight of Daniel Day-Lewis filming the upcoming feature film Anemone. Directed by his son Ronan Day Lewis, the movie also stars Samantha Morton and Sean Bean. In Manchester, CC: Emily, a romantic comedy set on a college campus, is in production with Angourie Rice and Spike Fearn as the leads. And get ready for a new supernatural series, The Talamasca, in Bolton, Greater Manchester, inspired by Anne Rice’s novels.

Heading to the Midlands, Retreat, a thriller featuring an all-deaf cast, is being filmed in the West Midlands. And Peaky Blinders fans will be thrilled to know that production is underway in Birmingham for a Netflix film starring Cillian Murphy and a talented ensemble cast. In the North East, Night And Day, a film starring Haley Bennett, Timothy Spall, and Lily Allen, has been filming in Newcastle.

Throughout these regions, the Creative England team is working hard to support and facilitate high-end TV and feature film productions. With so much exciting content in the works, it’s clear that England is a hotspot for entertainment.
