On December 12th, the latest episode of The Wire’s weekly radio show on Resonance FM and Resonance Extra brought a diverse selection of tracks for listeners to enjoy. You could tune in to hear tracks by artists like Kate Bush, The Unthanks, The High Llamas, Annette Peacock, and many more.

Starting off strong, Kate Bush’s ethereal track “Hello Earth” from her album The Hounds Of Love set the tone for the evening. Following that, Rattle’s hypnotic “All Burning” brought a unique energy to the airwaves from their album Encircle.

If you’re into remixes, The High Llamas had a treat with “Milting Tindmills (The High Llamas Remix)” from Lollo Rosso, while The Unthanks added a festive touch with their rendition of “O Tannenbaum” from In Winter.

Annette Peacock’s “Camille” showcased her distinctive style from her album An Acrobat’s Heart, and Dark Sky Burial’s haunting “Flesh Altar” from VITRIOL added a dark twist to the mix.

Emahoy Tsege-Mariam Gebru and Maya Dunietz collaborated on a beautiful rendition of “The Garden Of Gethsemanie” live in Paris, and Legowelt’s “Ghost Stories From A New House” took listeners on a journey through the void.

The variety continued with Ann-Margaret & Oliver Reed’s track “Christmas” from the Tommy: Original Soundtrack Recording, Jana Irmert’s gripping “ALIENS” from When I Dissolve, and Windborne’s festive “Here We Come A-Wassailing.”

And if you’re in the mood for some classic hits, Jamiroquai’s remix of “Deeper Underground (The Metro Mix)” brought a familiar groove to the show. Damon Locks’ powerful “Click” from List of Demands, Sunfear’s experimental “Form Changed,” and Tomutonttu’s captivating “Ihmisen Ääni” were also featured.

New Celeste’s “Winter Brings A Melody,” Pye Corner Audio’s “Simulation Cult,” and Rain Parade’s classic “This Can’t Be Today” added even more depth to the playlist. Matilde Meireles’s “Magnetic Fields” from Loop. And Again. brought a fitting close to the evening’s broadcast.
