Good morning, and here are the latest headlines for Wednesday, Dec. 11. In Omaha, Nebraska, four people were hospitalized after an apartment building caught fire early Wednesday morning. Additionally, 16 others were treated for minor injuries at the scene. Firefighters rushed to the area of 75th and Cedar Streets around 2:30 a.m. and found flames and heavy smoke. Sadly, one of the hospitalized individuals has potentially life-threatening injuries.

In Lancaster County, a complaint was filed on Tuesday looking to halt the medical marijuana ballot initiatives approved by Nebraska voters in November. The complaint argues that the initiatives violate federal law, specifically invoking the “supremacy clause” of the U.S. Constitution. This legal challenge follows a previous dismissal by Lancaster County District Court Judge Susan Strong, which was based on concerns about the handling of the petition process to get the measures on the ballot.
