New Docuseries Celebrating 50 Years of SNL ‘SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night’ On Peacock
If you’re a fan of Saturday Night Live, it’s time to mark your calendars! A brand new docuseries, “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night,” is coming to Peacock in January 2025. This exciting four-part series will celebrate 50 years of SNL with the help of 60 contributors from the show’s past and present.
Morgan Neville, an Academy and Emmy Award winner, is the executive producer behind this special series. Neville expressed his excitement at the opportunity to work on the project, saying, “I’ve been obsessed with Saturday Night Live as long as I can remember. For SNL50, I’ve been lucky to collaborate with some of my favorite independent filmmakers to tell some deeper stories of SNL.”
The docuseries will take a closer look at different aspects of the show’s history and impact. “Episode 101: Five Minutes” will feature never-before-seen audition footage and reflections from iconic SNL cast members about their journey to the stage. “Episode 102: Written By: A Week Inside The SNL Writers Room” will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the creative chaos in the writers’ room. “Episode 103: More Cowbell” will delve into the making of the iconic Cowbell sketch, while “Episode 104: Season 11: The Weird Year” will explore a pivotal moment in SNL history.
Catch every single season of SNL exclusively on Peacock to celebrate the epic 50th anniversary of this legendary show.
