“The Bear” Maintains Television Success with Five Golden Globes Nominations
The 82nd Golden Globes nominations are in, and it’s looking like it’s going to be an exciting year for everyone involved! The French musical Emilia Pérez, which stars Zoe Saldana and Selena Gomez, is leading the way with an impressive 10 nominations, including nods for best comedy or musical, best director, and best female actor in a supporting role for Selena Gomez. Selena Gomez is also getting recognition for her role in Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.”
The Bear is making waves in the TV division with five nominations, the most for any series this year. Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer” and “Nobody Wants This” are also boosting the studio’s success this year. HBO Max’s “Hacks” is picking up steam with three nominations for best television series, best performance by a female actor (Jean Smart), and best performance by a female actor in a supporting role (Hannah Einbinder).
This year’s Golden Globes feature the second annual stand-up comedy category, which honors outstanding work in traditional stand-up format. Ricky Gervais took home the first award in this category for his Netflix special “Armageddon” last January.
The host for this year’s ceremony is comedian Nikki Glaser, and the show is set to air on January 5th, so mark your calendars!
