Comcast expands high-speed internet in Whiteside County, Illinois
Comcast has recently expanded its high-speed internet network north of Sterling, benefiting residents of Whiteside County, Illinois. This expansion is part of Comcast’s $1.4 billion investment in its network within the state over the past three years.
According to Whiteside County’s economic development director, Gary Camarano, bringing advanced connectivity to rural areas like Whiteside County is a priority. He expressed his appreciation for Comcast’s investment in the county, stating that it helps bridge the digital divide by providing essential broadband services to residents and businesses.
Chris Smith, Comcast’s regional senior vice president, reiterated the company’s commitment to Whiteside County, emphasizing their continuous investment in the area. Comcast offers a range of services to residential customers in Whiteside County, including Xfinity Internet with speeds faster than a gigabit, advanced Wi-Fi gateways, and Wi-Fi Boost Pods for extended coverage.
In addition to internet services, Comcast provides Xfinity Mobile with a variety of mobile phone models and data plans tailored to customers’ needs. Customers can also enjoy Xfinity X1 for live TV and streaming apps, as well as Xfinity Home for home security and automation solutions. The Xumo Stream Box from Xfinity offers 4K streaming devices to internet customers at no additional monthly cost.
Furthermore, Comcast offers the Internet Essentials program to low-income households in Whiteside County, providing them with access to low-cost internet services. This program aims to make internet connectivity more accessible to those who may face financial barriers.
