WWE announces changes to Raw and SmackDown commentary teams for Netflix debut
Changes are coming to the WWE Raw and SmackDown commentary teams in January. WWE announced over the summer that Joe Tessitore would take over commentary on Raw, replacing Michael Cole who moved to SmackDown. But according to WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Pat McAfee is returning full-time to Monday Night Raw. McAfee will be teaming up with Cole, shifting Tessitore to SmackDown. McAfee made a brief return for the Royal Rumble in January after taking an “indefinite hiatus” in August. He expressed his excitement to be back and working with Cole again.
It seems that more changes are on the horizon for the SmackDown announce team, as there is talk that Corey Graves may join Tessitore instead of Wade Barrett. This news comes from a report by the Wrestling Observer. McAfee, in addition to his wrestling commentary duties, hosts ESPN’s College GameDay show, his own show The Pat McAfee Show, and covers NFL regularly.
So, get ready for some new voices on WWE broadcasts and stay tuned for more updates as WWE continues to shake things up.
