Phony Pilot with Sam Nivola and Connie Britton Filming in Vancouver for Hulu

Hulu’s new pilot, Phony, has officially started filming in Vancouver with stars Sam Nivola and Connie Britton. The show follows Sonny, a popular high school student played by Sam Nivola, who wakes up after a strange car accident to find that his mom, portrayed by Connie Britton, has been replaced by an imposter.

Sam Nivola, known for his roles in The Perfect Couple on Netflix and the upcoming season 3 of HBO’s The White Lotus, takes on the role of Sonny. Meanwhile, Connie Britton, beloved for her work in Friday Night Lights and season one of The White Lotus, plays Sonny’s single mom Ellen and the principal of his high school.

Described as a blend of Freaks and Geeks and The Twilight Zone, Phony offers a unique twist on the coming-of-age comedy genre. The pilot is written and directed by Nick Paley, with production dates in Vancouver set from December 5 to December 16, 2024.
