Tesla is expanding its entertainment options for drivers with the addition of new streaming platforms to its Tesla Theater feature. Codes found in the Tesla app indicate that services like TVLand, MTV, Paramount, and HBO GO could soon be accessible in Tesla vehicles. This means that while you’re charging your car or waiting for someone, you could be catching up on your favorite shows or watching a movie.
The discovery of a function called “parsePossibleSources” suggests that Tesla is working on integrating the Tesla app with its in-car infotainment system. This integration aims to make it even easier for users to access video streaming services directly from their cars, offering a seamless entertainment experience.
Tesla Theater, already available in Tesla vehicles, allows users to watch content from platforms like Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+. By subscribing to Tesla’s premium connectivity package, users get data access to stream these services while on the go. If you already have subscriptions to these services, just sign in with your existing credentials and start watching immediately.
Code discoveries by @Tesla_iOS_App have a history of coming true, such as when they hinted at an upcoming Apple Watch app. Tesla has now launched an Apple Watch app as part of its recent 2024 Holiday Update, making it even easier for Tesla owners to access their favorite features right from their wrists.
