Veteran Republican Marian Price files lawsuit against Disney+ for IRA murder depiction
A veteran republican, Marian Price, is suing Disney+ over its portrayal of her in the show Say Nothing. The historical drama depicts Price as the perpetrator of the 1972 killing of Jean McConville by the IRA.
McConville, one of the Disappeared, was abducted, killed, and secretly buried by republican paramilitaries during the Troubles. Her remains were discovered in 2003, leaving behind 10 orphaned children.
Price, also known as Marian McGlinchey, has taken legal action against Disney for what her solicitor, Peter Corrigan, calls an “egregious allegation” without any evidence to support it. The claims made on an international scale have prompted Price to seek accountability from Disney through legal proceedings.
Disney+ has been reached out to for comment on the matter.
