Royal Peacock Multi Cuisine Opens in Cocoa Village as Murdock’s Closes in Florida
Cocoa Village is gearing up to welcome a new dining spot in the form of Royal Peacock Multi Cuisine, an “indo-fusion” restaurant set to open at the former location of Murdock’s Bistro and Char Bar on Brevard Ave. The soft opening is scheduled for this weekend, with some enticing opening offers.
The brains behind this new establishment are Marjorie and Vasanth Raju, the same duo responsible for the successful Royal Peacock Indian Kitchen in Sarasota. Excited to introduce their unique blend of Indian and fusion cuisine to Cocoa Village, Vasanth Raju cited the area’s historic charm as a major draw for their expansion.
What can diners expect from Royal Peacock? Well, the menu will feature a mix of classic Indian dishes like biryani, paneer, and tandoori, alongside innovative “Indo-fusion” creations. Hungry patrons can also look forward to traditional appetizers, breads, and a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
Despite the change in ownership and concept, the exterior of the historic Murdock’s building will remain unchanged and the interior remodeling will be minimal, in accordance with lease terms. Looking ahead, the Rajus have their sights set on opening another location in Orlando next year.
As for the history of the location, the building that once housed Murdock’s Bistro and Char Bar has seen a series of transformations over the years. After Murdock’s Southern Bistro moved to a new location, a separate entity opened under the Murdock’s name at the Brevard Ave. spot. However, with the recent closure of Murdock’s Bistro and Char Bar, the stage is set for Royal Peacock to make its mark on the culinary scene in Cocoa Village.
And that’s the scoop on the latest addition to the dining scene in Cocoa Village. Stay tuned for more updates as Royal Peacock Multi Cuisine prepares to open its doors and delight diners with its unique menu offerings!
