The star-studded cast, including familiar faces like Iain Glen, Martin Compston, Emily Hampshire, and more, recently gathered for a special screening at The Everyman in Edinburgh. Martin Compston, known for his role in Line of Duty, expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, calling it one of the greatest jobs he’s ever had and teasing that viewers are in for a treat.

The second season of The Rig follows the survivors of the Kinloch Bravo crew as they arrive at a new offshore facility called the Stac in the Arctic Circle. Set against breathtaking landscapes, the crew grapples with the aftermath of a devastating tsunami and faces new challenges, including corporate conflicts and deep-sea threats.

The show promises to delve into global themes, blending the past, present, and future while showcasing cutting-edge ocean technology and exploring the world of deep-sea mining. Produced by Wild Mercury Productions, the series is written by David Macpherson and directed by John Strickland and Alex Holmes.
