Peacocks vs Dukes – Duquesne University Athletics: A Head-to-Head Matchup

The Duquesne University men’s basketball team kicked off a three-game homestand at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse on Tuesday, facing off against Saint Peter’s. In a nail-biting game, the Dukes unfortunately fell short, losing 62-59. This marks their seventh loss of the 2024-25 season, with five of those losses being incredibly close, three by just five points or less.

At the 8:12 mark, the game was tied at 47-47 when junior forward David Dixon made a free throw. However, Saint Peter’s then went on an 8-1 run, giving them a commanding 55-48 lead with 5:40 remaining. Despite a strong effort, Duquesne couldn’t close the gap. Bryce Eaton from Saint Peter’s sealed the victory with a pair of free throws.

This loss brings Duquesne’s overall record to 1-7 for the season. The team has shown resilience in many close games, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
