Anya Taylor-Joy joins Apple TV+ series Lucky Produced by Reese Witherspoon
Anya Taylor-Joy has joined the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series Lucky, which is produced by Reese Witherspoon and created by Jonathan Tropper. Based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel, the show follows a young woman, played by Taylor-Joy, who tries to escape her criminal past by tapping into her darker side one last time.
This project marks Taylor-Joy’s first TV venture since her role in the hit Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit. She expressed excitement about being part of the team, saying, “Hello Sunshine continues to do a fantastic job of championing women’s voices and I’m thrilled to be joining the team alongside Jonathan, Cassie and Apple TV+ to bring Lucky to life.”
Reese Witherspoon, who also serves as executive producer, commented on her goal with Reese’s Book Club to deepen connections through storytelling, and how rewarding it is to bring female-centric stories like Lucky to the screen. With Taylor-Joy on board, alongside creators Tropper and Cassie Pappas, this adaptation is set to captivate audiences around the world.
The series, co-showrun by Tropper and Pappas, is scheduled to begin filming in spring 2025. Source: Deadline
