Exciting news for Kansas City Royals fans! The team has just announced a fantastic agreement with Diamond Sports Group, the owner of FanDuel Sports Network. For the upcoming 2025 season, you can catch all the Royals games on FanDuel Sports Network, which you may know as the recently rebranded Bally Sports.
Royals Chairman and CEO, John Sherman, shared, “Our top priority has always been reaching as many fans as possible. We want to make sure everyone who wants to watch our thrilling team has the chance to do so as we continue to invest in our progress on the field.”
FanDuel Sports Network Kansas City will keep bringing you live games through cable and satellite, along with a streaming package directly on the network. In 2024, the Royals saw a fantastic increase in viewership, with a more than 30% rise in linear viewers and a whopping 200% growth in streaming audiences.
Last season, the Royals finished with over 40,000 streaming subscribers, with most fans watching each game for at least 90 minutes. In fact, the Royals had the most significant subscriber growth in all of baseball!
Brooks Sherman, Royals President of Business Operations, mentioned, “This past season really showed us the extraordinary passion our fans have for the team and how much they love watching our incredible athletes in action. We’re thrilled to keep growing and positioning ourselves for even more success in the future.”
If you streamed Royals games on the previous Bally Sports app in 2024, don’t worry! Just update to the new FanDuel Sports Network app to gear up for the upcoming season.
In 2025, fans throughout the Royals territory can also enjoy watching the games on Amazon Prime Video as an add-on subscription, making it even more accessible. The best part is, no matter how you usually watch TV, all fans will have access.
Diamond CEO David Preschlack expressed, “Our renewed partnership with the Royals shows our joint commitment to connecting with as many fans as possible, no matter how they prefer to watch. With our evolving partnerships with Amazon and FanDuel, and a mix of linear and digital platforms, fans can expect exceptional value and an unmatched viewing experience.”
This agreement covers all non-nationally televised Royals games in 2025, starting from Spring Training. So mark your calendars, as pitchers and catchers report on Feb. 12, just 71 days away. Get ready to cheer on the Royals in the upcoming season! βΎπ
