Types of Problems: The Banner
swith some A-list Nashville sidemen, resulting in Every Kind of Uh-Oh, his first major label release in two decades.
Listening to this album is like taking a glimpse into Peacock’s diary. It’s filled with reminiscences and confessional musings, all wrapped in beautifully played tunes with a country-tinged Americana style. The standout track, “Get Yourself Some,” is a fantasia on the 23rd Psalm, where Peacock sings, “It’s all comfort from here on out. I did not say easy, I did not say easy.” His deep honesty shines through in lyrics like “Birdsong in the morning after troubled dreams” and “one more time, dear God, turn loss into gain.”
Every Kind of Uh-Oh is an outstanding album from an artist with a long and respected musical history. Despite health concerns and a shift towards supporting younger artists, Peacock proves that he still has a lot to offer as a musician. He’s clearly not done yet and this album is a testament to his talent and longevity.
