Sabrina Carpenter is hosting a new holiday variety music special on Netflix, and exciting TV shows and movies are on the horizon. In Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” the Deetz family returns to Winter River. The sequel is set to stream on Saturday, Dec. 7 on Max. Here, we find Lydia, played by Winona Ryder, still facing the antics of Beetlejuice, portrayed by Michael Keaton. As her teenage daughter discovers a portal, she embarks on another mysterious adventure. Reviewer Jocelyn Noveck described it as “a joyously rendered sequel that sometimes makes sense, and sometimes doesn’t, but just keeps rollicking.”
Additionally, there’s a new low-key reunion of “Love Actually” figures Richard Curtis and Bill Nighy in the animated film “That Christmas,” hitting Netflix on Wednesday. The film, inspired by Curtis’ series of Christmas books, features Nighy as the voice of Lighthouse Bill in a story about overcoming winter challenges in Wellington-on-Sea. Even Santa, voiced by Brian Cox, faces difficulties during a blizzard. Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum star in the comedic space race film “Fly Me to the Moon,” arriving on Apple TV+ on Wednesday. Here, Johansson’s performance shines, according to AP Film Writer Lindsey Bahr.
Looking ahead, music enthusiasts can enjoy Sabrina Carpenter’s holiday variety music special that promises an hour of fun and chaos. Several standout guests will join Sabrina, including Chappell Roan, Tyla, Shania Twain, and many more. On the music front, Lauren Mayberry from Chvrches has ventured into a solo career with her engaging tracks in “Vicious Creature.” And BLACKPINK’s Rosé is also making a solo debut with her album “rosie,” featuring a catchy pop-punk collaboration with Bruno Mars called “APT.”
For TV series lovers, new offerings include “Black Doves,” starring Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw as unlikely friends teaming up to solve a murder at Christmastime. Knightley jokingly compared the show to “Die Hard” in its explosive entertainment value. Meanwhile, Margo Martindale leads in the Prime Video series “The Sticky” as a woman in dire financial straits who finds herself in a unique crime ring that deals in stealing millions of dollars’ worth of maple syrup. All these exciting new ventures are set to provide captivating entertainment experiences across various streaming platforms.
