Pact Launches Production Support Initiative for HETV Drama
Pact, a prominent organization in the television industry, has unveiled an exciting new initiative to provide support for High-end TV (HETV) drama projects. This initiative is not just for Pact members – it’s available to anyone involved in HETV, from broadcasters and streamers to crew members and production companies.
Karl Liegis, head of production at 60Forty Films, is the mastermind behind this new tool, which aims to enhance existing production support and showcase the opportunities for positive action at all levels of HETV production bands.
The Production Support Initiative is structured around five key areas: Accessibility, Career Development and Training, Counselling, Wellbeing, and HR, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and Sustainability. Within each area, users will find a range of resources and suggestions tailored to HETV productions of all bands, covering policy, guidelines, training, and initiatives.
Currently, the resource is available as a downloadable PDF on the Pact Resource Hub, completely free for industry professionals to access. Pact’s future plans include developing an online version that will be regularly updated, potentially serving as a model for support in other sectors like unscripted, feature film, and children’s production across different regions.
According to Liegis, the Production Support Initiative represents a consolidation of positive actions that are already in practice in the industry. The goal is to make it easy for production teams to incorporate support into their projects, promoting inclusivity right from the start with open accessibility to the resource.
Now, it’s up to industry professionals to actively engage with and contribute to the Production Support Initiative to drive forward positive changes within the industry. Version 1 has been unveiled, and the hope is that everyone will come together to shape all future versions for the better.
