Is ‘The Old Man’ Renewed for Season 3 on FX?

The latest lineup of Dad TV shows has been hitting the screens hard lately. And while Jeff Bridges will forever hold his place as “The Dude” from The Big Lebowski, his current role as ex-CIA operative Dan Chase on The Old Man is gaining quite a bit of love.

This FX series, also available on Hulu, feels like a mix of John Wick and Taken, especially with the recent season set in Afghanistan. In this action-packed season, Chase and Harold Harper (played by John Lithgow) raced against time to rescue Emily/Angela (portrayed by Alia Shawkat) from the grips of warlord Faraz Hamzad (played by Navid Negahban). Interestingly, all three men consider her their daughter. The season closed with Emily taking charge and issuing a demand related to Harper’s whereabouts. And what about Lou Barlow? We’ll have to wait for the next season to find out.

So, has The Old Man been renewed for Season 3 yet? Well, at the moment, FX has not officially confirmed a renewal. They have a lot on their plate with Alien: Earth on the horizon and more Shōgun content coming up. Jeff Bridges himself has expressed uncertainty about the show’s future, stating to Hollywood Reporter, “I don’t know, the show hasn’t been picked up yet.” Additionally, Bridges kept it hush to Variety, saying, “Well, we don’t know.”

In simple terms, the big decision-makers haven’t given us the green light on whether we’ll see Dan Chase (or Lou Barlow?) saving Harold Harper in the next season. But let’s be real, Emily might not be too pleased if it doesn’t happen. Come on, FX, don’t leave us hanging!
