A brand new holiday movie, Ebenezer the Traveler, is here to give us a fresh take on the classic tale of A Christmas Carol. This time, we get to see what happens to Ebenezer Scrooge after his big change on Christmas Eve.

Written and performed by Leland Prater, this movie brings Scrooge into the 21st century and mixes in themes of hope and faith with a touch of Oklahoma flair. It’s a real homegrown production, showcasing the beauty of places like Hominy, Pawhuska, and Tulsa’s Circle Cinema. Leland, who hails from Hominy, made sure to use local talent and settings, including some that were originally created for Killers of the Flower Moon.

“It’s all about sharing that Okie culture with everyone,” Leland explained. He talked about how friendly and inviting folks from Oklahoma are, and how that warmth shines through in the film.

Ebenezer the Traveler isn’t just another holiday retelling – it’s a movie that will make you laugh, make you feel, and get you grooving to an awesome original song by director Joe Valenti. Leland teased, “We’re taking the story past Christmas Day with a fun twist.”
