Sikandar Ka Muqaddar Movie Review: Neeraj Pandey’s Netflix Film Analysis and Rating
Tamannaah Bhatia, Avinash Tiwary, and Jimmy Shergill team up in Netflix’s exciting new movie, Sikandar Ka Muqaddar. Imagine a high-stakes jewelry exhibition in Mumbai, now picture a daring heist taking place right there. A frantic phone call sends shivers down everyone’s spine, gunshots ring out, and chaos ensues as the police try to maintain order. In the midst of it all, a precious collection of gems vanishes into thin air.
Enter chief investigator Jaswinder Singh (played by Jimmy Shergill), who sets his sights on three suspects. Could it be the long-time jewelry store employee Mangesh Desai, his attractive colleague Kamini (Tamannaah Bhatia), or the computer-savvy Sikandar Sharma (Avinash Tiwary) who seems a bit too eager to leave the scene once things settle down? As Jaswinder digs deeper, the suspects vehemently deny any involvement in the theft. But is there more to their story than meets the eye? Could they be innocent, proving Jaswinder’s instincts wrong for the first time?
Neeraj Pandey, along with Vipul K Rawal, delivers a captivating tale that goes beyond a simple heist. “Sikandar Ka Muqaddar” is more of a character-driven drama with unexpected twists and turns that will keep you guessing till the very end. While there are a few loopholes and some characters could use more depth, the film’s ability to surprise you just when you think you have it all figured out is what makes it a fun watch.
Spanning over fifteen years, the film transports us back to the heist in 2009 and then brings us to the present day as the mystery unravels through flashbacks. The impact of such a life-altering event on the characters is beautifully depicted, with the actors aging convincingly throughout the story. Jimmy Shergill shines as the fallen investigator determined to crack the case, while Tamannaah Bhatia showcases a new side of her talent beyond comedy and dance sequences. Avinash Tiwary, fresh off his success in “Laila Majnu”, delivers yet another stellar performance.
“Sikandar Ka Muqaddar” stands out as a solid example of how a gripping plot and strong performances can carry a film without relying solely on big stars. Neeraj Pandey’s direction keeps you engaged, with each character serving a purpose in the larger narrative. So, if you’re in the mood for a well-crafted story with some excellent acting, this film is definitely worth checking out.
