Disney+ in the EMEA region will soon be under the leadership of Karl Holmes, an executive coming from Sky with an impressive 10-year tenure. Holmes, previously serving as the Chief Financial Officer for the UK and Ireland and Group Chief Data Officer, will now take the reins as the SVP, Direct to Consumer & General Manager for Disney+ in EMEA starting in January 2025.

Having also held positions as Chief Operating Officer for Europe and Chief Consumer Revenue Officer for the UK, Holmes brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He steps in to replace Luke Bradley-Jones, who departed earlier this year to take on the role of President at the Economist publishing group.

In his new capacity, Holmes will be responsible for overseeing the Disney+ business across EMEA, with his base of operations in London. Reporting to Jan Koeppen, President of The Walt Disney Company EMEA, and Joe Earley, President of Direct-to-Consumer, Disney Entertainment, Holmes is poised to guide the regional team to success.

Expressing his excitement for the new role, Holmes shared, “For years I’ve admired Disney’s unique position as a business. As a long-time fan of the brand, I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the company to lead direct-to-consumer in EMEA, after a fantastic decade at Sky.”

With Koeppen confident in Holmes’ ability to drive long-term success in consumer-facing businesses, the future of Disney+ in the EMEA region looks promising. Stay tuned for more updates as Holmes takes on this new challenge.
