Starling Bank Names Michele Rousseau Chief Marketing Officer

Starling Bank has announced the appointment of Michele Rousseau as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). This move is part of the bank’s efforts to strengthen its leadership team under Group CEO Raman Bhatia. Michele will be a key member of the executive committee, focusing on driving Starling’s growth through brand development, customer engagement, and product marketing.

With over 20 years of experience in some of the world’s largest digital businesses, Michele brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role. Prior to joining Starling, she worked at Expedia Group, where she led the growth of the company’s travel apps through an award-winning global creative marketing team. She also spent more than a decade at Apple, where she held various leadership roles, including overseeing the launch of Apple Music, Apple News, Apple Arcade, and Apple TV+.

In her new position at Starling, Michele will be responsible for strengthening the bank’s brand, enhancing customer relationships, and focusing on small business customers and commercial opportunities. Her priorities include developing and enhancing Starling’s reputation as a bank that utilizes technology to benefit its customers, deepening existing customer relationships, and introducing new products like the ‘Easy Saver’.

Group CEO Raman Bhatia expressed his confidence in Michele’s ability to elevate Starling’s brand and market positioning. Michele herself is excited to join a team of passionate marketers at Starling, where she believes the bank’s focus on customer experience and innovative technology will drive continued growth.
