Netflix Collaborates with Roblox to Bring Players into TV Shows and Movies
Netflix has teamed up with animation studio Barrier Four to bring exciting playable experiences to Roblox based on their popular content offerings, Spellbound and Cobra Kai. The first experience features a big song from Skydance Animation’s Spellbound, where players can watch a movie clip in a parade and then enter the scene as avatars to play a musical rhythm game. This experience is available in Netflix’s central hub game on Roblox, Nextworld. Following this, Barrier Four will release a similar interactive experience for Cobra Kai, allowing kids to drop into a recreated fight scene and try out some martial art moves.
Nextworld in Roblox has seen 4.7 million visits since its launch last November, offering fans the opportunity to interact with worlds and characters from Netflix original series and films like Stranger Things and One Piece. This collaboration with Barrier Four marks the first fully immersive experience in the game, providing players with a unique and engaging way to interact with their favorite shows and movies.
Barrier Four is known for its innovative approach to creating playable moments from TV series and movies, setting a new standard for brand engagement. The studio has previously worked on similar projects with Nickelodeon and Spin Master for shows like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and SpongeBob SquarePants, but this latest partnership with Netflix on Roblox takes player immersion to a new level.
