Netflix Series Review: The Madness – Drive You Crazy
There’s no shortage of disappointing TV shows out there, but “The Madness” really takes the cake. This Netflix series tries to be a political thriller, a murder mystery, and a family drama all at once, but the end result is just a confusing mess. It’s even harder to take seriously with its outdated political takes and bizarre plot twists.
The show follows Muncie Daniels, played by Colman Domingo, who finds himself framed for the murder of a white supremacist known as Brother14. As the story unfolds, Muncie’s actions only make matters worse for himself, leading to a series of questionable decisions that leave viewers scratching their heads. And don’t even get me started on the show’s attempts to tackle contemporary American politics—it’s a cringe-worthy mess.
From the inconsistent plot to the underdeveloped characters, “The Madness” struggles to keep its audience engaged. The show introduces various suspects and themes, from white supremacist groups to shadowy billionaires, but fails to delve deep enough into any of them. The result is a series that feels more like a caricature of real-world issues than a meaningful exploration.
Despite its ambitions, “The Madness” falls short of delivering any real substance. It may try to be smart and edgy, but it ultimately comes across as shallow and disconnected. If you’re looking for a thought-provoking thriller, this probably isn’t the show for you. Sorry to say, but “The Madness” is one Netflix series that’s better off skipped.
