Superman: The Christopher Reeve Story Coming to Max in December
Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui’s documentary “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” is set to release on Max on December 7 after making its debut at Sundance. The film explores the life of Superman actor Christopher Reeve, both before and after a life-altering horseback riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down.
Using Reeve’s own words and insights from his closest family and friends, the filmmakers create a rich and multi-dimensional portrait of a man who refused to be confined by his physical limitations. The documentary recently earned six Critics Choice Documentary Awards and serves as a follow-up to the filmmakers’ previous works, “McQueen” from 2018 and “Rising Phoenix” from 2020.
Following its premiere at Sundance, Warner Bros Discovery acquired the film. “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” is a DC Studios presentation in collaboration with HBO Documentary Films and CNN Films, alongside Words+Pictures, a Passion Pictures and Misfits Entertainment production, in association with Jenco Films. Producers Lizzie Gillett, Robert Ford, and Bonhôte played key roles in bringing this project to life.
In another update, the anticipated sequel “Moana 2” is under review, promising more adventures in the popular animated universe. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting projects in the world of streaming entertainment.
