Review: Lindsay Lohan’s Netflix Movies – From Atrocious to Bad

0

Lindsay Lohan is back at it with another holiday film on Netflix. As part of her three-picture deal with the streaming giant, she’s been delivering a series of seasonal movies since 2022.

First up was “Falling for Christmas,” a story about a hotel heiress who loses her memory and learns to make eggs at a ski-town bed and breakfast. Then, there was “Irish Wish,” a St. Patrick’s Day-themed movie where Lohan plays a book editor with dreams of marrying an untalented author. And now, her latest offering, “Our Little Secret,” is out on Netflix.

In this new film, we follow Avery, played by Lohan, as she visits her boyfriend’s family for Christmas and discovers that her ex, Logan, is dating his sister. To spare their new relationships, Avery and Logan pretend not to know each other, leading to a series of mishaps and misunderstandings.

With a plot that tries to blow up a small deception into something much bigger, this movie may not reach the heights of a classic like “The Parent Trap.” However, it does have Kristin Chenoweth as the judgmental mother, Erica, who brings some sparkle to the otherwise lackluster story.

Directed by Stephen Herek, “Our Little Secret” may seem like a simple domestic drama compared to Lohan’s previous films, but it delves into darker themes like dementia and infidelity, leaving audiences with more cringes than laughs or tears.

While these holiday movies might not be groundbreaking, they serve as comforting background noise during the winter season. And despite the mixed reviews, Lindsay Lohan’s presence in these films is enough to keep fans like me coming back for more.

So, if you’re looking for a cozy movie night in, “Our Little Secret” might just be the ticket. But if you’re expecting a Hallmark happy ending, you might be in for a surprise. Regardless, Lindsay Lohan fans will be eagerly awaiting her next project, hoping for a return to her former glory.
