Milly Shapiro from ‘Hereditary’ Returns to Horror in ‘The Hallowarrior’

Milly Shapiro, known for her role in “Hereditary,” is back in the horror genre in “The Hallowarrior,” alongside Shannyn Sossamon of “A Knight’s Tale.” The film, directed by Ben Sottak, is a post-apocalyptic horror-thriller with a Halloween twist.

The story revolves around Pumpkin (played by Shapiro), the last girl on earth after a devastating plague decimates humanity. She scours the wasteland for supplies on Halloween eve until a ruthless gang of raiders, led by Thalia (Sossamon), interrupts her lonely holiday ritual. Armed with candy, wit, and weapons, Pumpkin must fiercely fight back to survive the night.

The production of “The Hallowarrior” recently wrapped in Syracuse, N.Y., with a first-look still unveiling a bloodied Shapiro in a Halloween jumper. The film is based on Sottak’s successful proof of concept short film, “Scavenger,” and marks his directorial debut.
