Meet Shari Johnson-Jefferson, who bears a striking resemblance to her famous daughter, Lizzo. Lizzo and her mum look so much alike that you might mistake them for sisters! The singer, along with her siblings Vanessa and Mikey, grew up in Detroit surrounded by major gospel artists.
In a recent Instagram video, Lizzo and her mum were twinning with matching braided hairstyles in a car. Lizzo even joked in the caption that her mum stole her hairstyle and outshone her!
Fans were amazed by Shari’s youthful appearance, some even thinking they were siblings. “She gets it from her mama!” one netizen exclaimed. Celebrity hairstylist Ashanti Lation remarked how they looked like real-life twins.
Despite some speculation about Lizzo’s weight loss journey, she clarified that she achieved it through hard work in the gym, not with Ozempic as some claimed. To playfully tease her critics, she dressed up as Ozempic for Halloween.
Growing up, Lizzo was part of a church choir founded by her great-grandparents in Detroit. Her mum, Shari Johnson-Jefferson, sang in the church, exposing Lizzo to gospel artists early on. Shari met her late husband, Michael Jefferson, at church, and they married soon after meeting.
Lizzo was very close to her dad, who unfortunately passed away in 2009. She struggled after his death, losing the will to create music. Lizzo’s parents both worked in the mortgage industry before she rose to fame as a music icon.
