Paramount+ has given us a sneak peek at the new UK original series The Crow Girl, which was filmed in Bristol earlier this year with support from the Film Office team.

The show, produced by the Emmy-winning team at Buccaneer (known for Irvine Welsh’s Crime and Marcella), features a star-studded cast including Eve Myles, Katherine Kelly, Dougray Scott, and Elliot Edusah. Based on the bestselling novel by Erik Axl Sund, The Crow Girl is a gripping psychological thriller set in a contemporary and twisted world.

The story follows DCI Jeanette Kilburn (played by Eve Myles) and DI Lou Stanley (played by Dougray Scott) as they investigate a series of murders involving young men found beaten and drugged with lidocaine. With the pressure mounting to catch the killer, Jeanette seeks the help of Carl Lowry’s psychotherapist, Dr. Sophia Craven (played by Katherine Kelly), who brings a fresh perspective to the case. As the killer closes in, the team races against time to untangle the web of secrets and solve the mystery.

In the first images released from the show, we see Eve Myles in action as DCI Jeanette Kilburn, working alongside Dougray Scott as DI Lou Stanley on the hunt for the elusive killer. Katherine Kelly plays the role of Dr. Sophia Craven, a sophisticated psychotherapist whose assessment of the prime suspect adds a new layer to the investigation.

Completing the cast is Elliot Edusah as DC Mike Dilliston, shadowing DI Lou Stanley during his first murder investigation, along with Clara Rugaard, Victoria Hamilton, and Chloé Sweetlove in other key roles.

Milly Thomas is the creative force behind the series, writing four episodes and serving as executive producer. Directors Charles Martin and Rebecca Rycroft bring the story to life on screen, with Tony Wood and Richard Tulk Hart as executive producers for Buccaneer. Andy Mosse is the producer for the series, which is produced in association with and distributed by ITV Studios.

The Crow Girl is set to debut on Paramount+ in the UK early next year, promising a nail-biting and thrilling ride for viewers. Images courtesy of Paramount+.
