Dexter: Original Sin Trailer and Key Art Revealed

Paramount+ and SHOWTIME have unveiled the trailer and key art for the highly anticipated prequel, Dexter: Original Sin. The show is set to premiere on Friday, December 13 for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan, before airing in the US on Sunday, December 15 at 10pm ET/PT.

For international viewers, the series will be exclusively available on Paramount+ on December 13 in various countries including the UK, Canada, Australia, and across Europe. The 10-episode drama series is a deep dive into the origin story of everyone’s favorite serial killer, Dexter.

Set in 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter (played by Patrick Gibson) as he navigates the transition from student to avenging serial killer. Guided by his father, Harry (portrayed by Christian Slater), Dexter develops a Code to pursue vigilante justice without raising suspicions from law enforcement, all while starting a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.

In addition to Gibson and Slater, the series features a talented cast including Molly Brown, Christina Milian, James Martinez, Alex Shimizu, and Reno Wilson, with special guest stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Patrick Dempsey. Fans will be pleased to know that Michael C. Hall returns to lend his voice to Dexter Morgan’s iconic inner monologue.

Executive produced by Clyde Phillips and produced by SHOWTIME Studios and Counterpart Studios, the show is packed with creative talent. It is overseen by a team that includes Scott Reynolds, Michael C. Hall, Mary Leah Sutton, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution beyond the Paramount+ markets.
