DC Studios co-CEO and writer/director James Gunn recently shared an exciting update about Alan Tudyk, known for his roles in Firefly and Resident Alien. Tudyk is lending his voice to characters like Dr. Phosphorus, Clayface, and Dr. Will Magnus in the upcoming adult animated series Creature Commandos, co-created by Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran. Gunn clarified that for primary castings, they plan on having the same actor play both the live-action and animated versions of their characters. So, when asked if there was a chance Tudyk would portray these characters in live-action, Gunn’s response was a confident “Oh yes.”

During the 2024 Annecy International Animation Festival, Gunn shared more details about Creature Commandos, giving attendees a sneak peek at the upcoming series. The show will feature familiar characters like Waller (Viola Davis), G.I. Robot (Sean Gunn), and Nina (Zoe Chao), and will explore themes like killing Nazis. Gunn emphasized the importance of consistency and unity across all DC projects, ensuring that characters, history, and actors remain the same across different mediums.
