Amazon Prime Video Introduces 5 Free Holiday Channels as Freevee Closes
Just in time for the holiday season, Amazon Prime Video is spreading some festive cheer by adding a lineup of free live TV channels with a holiday theme. This move comes after Freevee shut down and its content transitioned to the Prime Video app, which is free for all viewers.
To get you in the holiday spirit, Amazon has introduced some new holiday-themed channels:
– Hallmark Holiday Favorites: Cozy up with feel-good Hallmark holiday movies to warm your heart.
– Holiday Movie Favorites by Lifetime: Enjoy a 24/7 channel featuring a star-studded lineup of Lifetime holiday movies.
– Always Christmas: Indulge in classic and new holiday movies, from heartwarming romances to seasonal favorites.
– Vevo Holiday: Celebrate the season with holiday music videos from top artists like Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber.
– America’s Test Kitchen Holidays: Get inspired for your holiday feasts with cooking demonstrations and recipes.
In addition to these channels, Amazon has expanded its partnership with PBS, bringing over 150 local PBS stations and the PBS KIDS Channel to Prime Video as free, ad-supported channels. This marks the first time this PBS programming will be available for free on a major streaming service.
PBS Distribution will also offer two new exclusive FAST channels – PBS Drama and PBS Documentaries – for a limited time, starting on November 26th. Additionally, a “pop-up” channel featuring classic PBS shows like “Reading Rainbow” will be available.
With these new additions, Amazon Prime Video’s library of free ad-supported television (FAST) channels offers a diverse range of programming, including news, entertainment, lifestyle, and now, holiday content.
Whether you’re an Amazon Prime member or not, these free channels add value to your subscription and provide easy access to holiday entertainment. With a wide selection of festive programming, Amazon Prime Video is the ideal destination for your holiday viewing this season.
