Amazon Prime NFL-NBA Crossover Planned for Black Friday 2025

This year, Amazon Prime Video is hosting its second Black Friday NFL game, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders at 3 p.m. ET. Last year’s game wasn’t so close, and this year’s matchup might leave something to be desired, but Amazon’s already looking ahead to Black Friday 2025.

At the recent Sports Business Journal Media Innovators Conference, Amazon teased its plans for next year, hinting at making Black Friday a sports holiday. Amazon’s head of live sports in the US, Danielle Carney, mentioned, “We’re officially making it a sports holiday, which we love.”

Excitingly, in 2025, Amazon will also include a Black Friday NBA game as part of its exclusive live sports content lineup. Jeff Kaiser, Prime Video’s head of sports programming, said that fans can expect up to 12 hours of exclusive live sports content on the platform next year.

Amazon is thinking big for next year, hoping to possibly air two games from the same city and integrate their NBA and NFL talent. In 2023, Amazon’s Black Friday NFL game drew fewer than 10 million viewers, so next year’s NBA game might bring a fresh feel to the lineup. The games will be scheduled early to comply with the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961, which sets the broadcast windows for football games.

If Amazon successfully courts Blake Griffin for its studio coverage, we might see another game in New York followed by a nightcap at Madison Square Garden. With all these exciting possibilities on the horizon, Black Friday 2025 looks to be a big day for sports fans on Amazon Prime Video.
